Winter Activities

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Well we had our first snowfall last week, Jaxon was so excited and had fun playing in it- even though it was mostly frozen by the time we got outside. It was super fun though as we have deer who reside in our yard, we saw their tracks on the snow and followed them- then we found the deer, which Jaxon calls reindeer. Here are some pictures:

Getting closer to December is so exciting as it means Christmas is just around the corner, and we've started playing our christmas music. As I said before I recently finished Alivia's stocking and here it is! I hung both stockings up and whenever Alivia notices them she gets a huge grin on her face and points to them, SO CUTE!

Jaxon and I did a snowman art activity- Shaving Cream snowman. It was super easy and he LOVED it, getting his hands gooey and messy. Using shaving foam (not the gel) mix it with white glue and put it on your paper, Jaxon's mostly looked like a blob so I just helped him round out the head and it was great. We added a hat, carrot nose and eyes and a mouth, he loved it because we didn't get to make a snowman in the real snow! He also ended up just smooshing the gooey mixture between his fingers and of course... giving himself a moustache!

Today we also made paper snowflakes for our window, ok I made paper snowflakes for our window. Jaxon was doing this activity with me he just didn't have the same results (but it's not always about the results) he loves using scissors so this was right up his alley. We have snowflake and christmas window stickers from the dollar store that I love however we have moved and have horrible windows in our place so we have covered them with the plastic film to help keep heat in... and the window stickers don't stick to it, so sad! Next year I will have to put the stickers on BEFORE the plastic, if I remember. But I love our pretty snowflake window.

Alivia is now up to taking 3 steps on her own, however we have a toy train that is a ride on or you can push it and she zooms behind this thing, it's really quite impressive! Slowy but surely she's getting the hang of it.

Yesterday we had the power out for over half the day, Jordan's work was also without power so he had a day off- which is ALWAYS a nice treat- especially with the long hours he's been working! We were very ambitious and productive and moved the computer desk out of the playroom/ tv room and put it in the kitchen. It has opened up the playroom and given more room for the kids. I'm so happy with it, we've also moved Jaxon's art wall so now we can display WAY more pictures, again I'm so happy with it!

I have also made this knotted crochet headband which I personally love and am hoping to make and sell for my shop.

And one more project... a cute tutu I made for Alivia which she will be debuting at her 1st Birthday keeping with the Rainbow theme.

Just a Little update

Well it feels like forever since I posted here, it has been almost 2 weeks! We've been fairly busy but I feel as though I don't have too much to update about, we'll see how my ramblings go...

Jaxon's been a handful lately and I am definitely feeling exhausted at the end of the day, he's become much more independent in some ways and so much more dependant in other ways. For example he can now mostly dress himself and loves to choose his own clothes, but he always wants me to hold him and carry him everywhere- which he hasn't wanted for a long time. He does however have a very funny personality and me and Jordan are often laughing at what he says and does. Jordan has recently started growing a mustache and came home from work last week, Jaxon sees it gets one of his markers and draws a mustache on his own face- which was hilarious! With these cool sunny days we try and go out for some fresh air and a walk, jaxon rides his balance bike which he's is now a pro at! He can balance so well and if he has a bit of hill he lifts his feet and coasts down it, he's so confidant and fearless.

Alivia now has 2 teeth, and Jaxon's excited about it as he asks if he can share his snacks with her. She recently started standing up on her own in the middle of the floor and yesterday she took one step! She's 10 and a half months so we'll see how quickly she decides she wants to walk! She also loves waving, especially to herself in the mirror, either hi or bye and if you say bye she totally tries to say it too, after she's finished eating I ask her if she's 'all done' she tries to say 'done'. She also babbles a lot, much more than I remember Jaxon doing making so many fun sounds and noises- she seems to have a funny personality too! She loves dancing, as soon as she hears music she starts bouncing a bobbing, it's SO cute!

Last Thursday I had an appointment with my midwife, baby is healthy and has a strong heartbeat. I will be 22 weeks this wednesday and it's crazy how quickly time has gone by. My body is definitely paying the price for these close pregnancies though, I am in constant pain lately in my hips, back and sciatic nerve. Jaxon is getting pretty excited about "little baby in mommy's tummy" especially when we hear the heartbeat at the midwife. If you ask him what he thinks it is he will tell you a baby sister! I'm measuring the same as both my other pregnancies and have gained the least weight so far, which is always a bonus. I felt baby for the first time around 18 weeks and then it was almost a few weeks later before I felt it again. Since then it is very far between and is still very subtle, after my ultrasound we found out that I have an "anterior placenta" meaning the placenta is between baby and my stomach so it's like its punching a pillow which is why the movements are so faint still. As baby gets bigger and stronger I'll be able to feel it more.

I have been way to busy with my new little business 'VeeVee's Accessories', not because I have a lot of orders or anything but I am hoping to do a swap meet or craft fair soon to try and sell more headbands and get some exposure, so i'm building up my stock.

I've also been busy working on Christmas crafts, I have made all 3 kids a sock monkey because I always call them my monkeys. I am so happy with how they turned out and hope they last and don't fall apart! I also have made Alivia her Christmas stocking and will post a picture soon.

Work has started on the mini van, Jordan and Jaxon are out in the workshop almost everyday fixing it. I'm so excited to start driving it, even though I never wanted a mini van!
