A Fabulous Fall

I love summer, without a doubt it is my very favourite! Probably because I can send my kids outside to play if they are driving me crazy and they will amuse themselves all day. The seasons change and the rain comes and they still go out to play sometimes but they are now mostly inside and somedays going stir crazy. Thankfully we've still had lots of sunny days and lots of fun activities to keep us busy! Not quite ready for the change of season, but ready or not it is here!
Zoey got to attend her first hockey game watching daddy play!

We had family photos done last Saturday with Jennifer, she is so amazing with the kids and her pictures are beautiful. We were supposed to go to Aldergrove Lake Park, but the weather forecasted rain so instead we decided Derby Reach might be a better option since there was an old barn that would provide some shelter. Half an hour before we were supposed to meet there it was pouring, like CRAZY! We decided to postpone until Tuesday and would just do it in our backyard when Jordan got home from work, since we have 5 acres anyways. About an hour later it cleared up and the sun was poking through, Jennifer called up and we decided to go ahead and do them right then, and in our yard. The results are beautiful, here is just a little sneak peek... these pictures need their own post!

We had Thanksgiving this past weekend, and it was very low key this year. We got together with Bill and Grace for dinner on Monday evening and that was about the extent of it. Of course I did have the opportunity to realize all the blessings in my life and the so very many things I have to be thankful for. Especially these 4!

I'm also incredibly thankful for my amazingly handy hubby! Not only does he fix vehicles, and rebuild shops, he can also do maintenance on our house. Hudson has just started potty training, after months of me pushing him and trying again and again he just started one day on his own, and after that no more diapers! So Monday before dinner he decided to flush his underwear down the toilet... not wanting to have any damage done to our septic system, Jordan spent Monday night taking the toilet off (thankfully the underwear were still right there) and putting it back on!

Jaxon had his first class at AVS on Wednesday morning. He had so much fun and can't wait to go again. We've been working away on kindergarten everyday and it's been mostly enjoyable, some days are hard if Zoey is super fussy but thankfully we can just leave it and come back to it later.
We made some coffee filter leaves by colouring them with felts and using eye droppers to put water on them, the colours merge together and they look so beautiful.

We also had some fun with baking soda, coloured vinegar and an egg carton. They look like little colourful volcanoes. The kids ask to do this activity everyday!

Jaxon has to do a journal twice a week and it's so fun to see how much change there has been in just a few weeks. This is his journal from this week...

We were invited to Danny's birthday at the Apple Barn, even though we'd already been there with Jordan a couple weeks ago we still had so much fun and this time we went to the pumpkin patch instead of the apple orchard. So happy to celebrate this wonderful boy who happens to be Jaxon's best buddy!

We spent a rainy Friday at home, Grace is a saint and dropped off and picked up Alivia at preschool for me, as well as mailing 2 packages so I didn't have to go out with my crew. The boys and I built a fort and had a movie afternoon.

A few more favourites...

We don't usually do any kindergarten on the weekend, but Jaxon has been begging for Jordan to do some with him, so here they sat together

One afternoon Daddy was outside with his boys, so it was just the girls hanging out inside. After playing some games Liv and I had a little silly fun making faces!

Hudson decided he wanted to do some of his own face painting... with felt pens!

Sunday was a super windy day, and living beside a big open field has many benefits- it is the perfect combination for flying kites!

At 6 weeks old we finally got to see Zoey's beautiful smile! I wasn't able to get a picture of it until 7 weeks though, how is she 7 weeks already!?!

This year I decided carving pumpkins was just too much work, I don't really enjoy it and the kids are too young to really help, so we painted them instead. I put tape on the pumpkins where we didn't want the paint to be, let the kids go crazy and then took the tape off to reveal the 'picture'.

And a little comparison of my 2 girls just for fun! I always knew right from day 1 that they were completely different but when I compare them in the same outfit at about the same age... they couldn't be more different. They don't even look related!
