More Summer FUN!

Summer continues to zoom by and we're making the most of the warm, sunny days we're having!
Jaxon had swimming lessons all week and I could not believe the huge improvement he had in just 5 days. He didn't pass his class, which didn't even matter as he has gained great confidence in the water and was able to do his front and back float for 5 seconds. He also was jumping into the pool by himself by the end of the week. Jordan was able to come watch the last 2 days, it was very special for Jaxon.

We made a trip out to the zoo last Wednesday with our friends the Diachuk's!

Jordan had a 4 day weekend so we got started on the deck, the kids have also been begging to go to the zoo with Daddy (because last time we went we promised when Daddy came again we would buy ice cream!) So friday after swimming we headed to the zoo again, this time with Daddy!

Our weekend was spent almost completely outside, doing major work to prepare for the deck and of course Grandma and Grandpa were there to lend a hand.

Mya came over to play on Saturday, the kids were making mud pies and were completely covered in mud by the end!

Sunday we had a backyard campfire again with some yummy s'mores! This time all the kids were still awake!

More awesome summer memories made and lots more to come!

Birthdays, a Wedding and a Bike Race

Friday we got to celebrate Jordan's 25th birthday! The kids I set up some streamers, put up a birthday sign and blew up a few balloons, Jaxon also wanted to use the Curious George plates and napkins (left over from his birthday). We also made the BEST ice cream cake ever!

When Jordan got home from dinner we went to Denny's and came home for cake with both our parents and Mya.

Hudson just started walking but has no problem climbing the slide or swinging on the big swing!
We then went to play soccer for my team (and Jordan had to fill in for the goalie) in the last game of the season.

Friday Jordan spent the night with his buddies to get ready for the wedding on Saturday, so it was another regular morning for me and the kids. I dropped them off at my parents around 2 and headed to Milner Chapel to see Chris (Jordan's friend since grade 3) marry Erin (who I used to play with at 3 and 4 years old when our Dad's worked together) what a small world! It was a beautiful hot day and a short and sweet wedding! We had a fun date night out of it and got to hang out with some great friends!

Sunday morning Jordan left at 6:30am with his mom to bike in the MedioFondo a 90km ride through the Fraser Valley (and right down 248 st by our house). So the kids and I made signs and were going to walk to the rode to cheer them on, they were too quick and we weren't quite fast enough so they met us on our road because Jordan already had gotten a flat so I had to give him extra bike tubes. Well the kids and I still went to the road so I could take a picture with the signs we made. They finished 90 km in 3.5 hours, an impressive feat!

In the afternoon Conrad and Cori came out and Bill and Grace joined us for a birthday bbq celebrating all the July Birthdays. Cori the 9th, Jordan the 19th and Grace the 31st. We finished off the ice cream cake and also had picked up a custard berry pie from Krause!

Alivia also got her first bee sting (and she's the first of my kids to ever get one). I didn't even know it right away as she wasn't screaming or crying that much, but Grandma said she stepped on a bee. She settled very quickly after snuggling with Daddy and putting a paste of baking soda and water on.

We also did some finger/ feet/ body painting this weekend

I got the recipe from here http://theimaginationtree.com/2011/03/homemade-edible-finger-paint-recipe.html
I love homemade as Hudson just so wants to join in and be big and him eating it doesn't matter at all!

We've also been eating out of our garden, having lettuce in our salad and eating the peas and carrots.

Already into a new week of swimming lessons and a mini holiday for Daddy!

Our Sweet Summer Life

Where has time gone? How is it already the middle of July?
We've been fairly busy lately and having lots of fun outings with friends to the water park or having friends over to play. We've gone to the beach with Oma and Mya and been able to cool off in the pool in our backyard. Here's some pictures of the last little while...

At the water park with our friends (on July 16) Hudson started walking! (I know he's crawling in the picture) but he kept making an attempt to walk, he must have fallen over about 20 times but continuously got up to take more steps (usually he would give up after falling 2 or 3 times). YAY!!
The kids also actually played in the water and didn't beg me for snacks the entire time, SO thankful!

We went to my parents one afternoon and picked blueberries... YUMMY!

We've been making lots of popsicles and eating them of course!

When the kids are playing in the pool I usually sit with a chair on the outside and put my feet in, the other day Hudson hopped on my legs so I bounced him around, I think he liked it!

Yes, they were eating limes! Hudson definitely didn't like them but Jaxon and Alivia thought they were great.

Pulled out some carrots from our garden and they had legs! The kids laughed so hard and thought they were hilarious, Jaxon said (about his carrot on the left) it looks like it's doing hi-ya! Then he kicked his leg and spun around and flung his arms (I think he was meaning karate).

We pulled out some shaving cream and put a tarp on the grass... need I say more?

Out at Centennial Beach, our favourite place to go with Oma and Mya

After playing at the beach all day Mya slept over on Wednesday and then the kids played together outside all day Thursday! Even though I had 4 kids to watch it really only felt like I had one most of the day, Jaxon and Alivia are so enthralled by Mya she had their attention the entire time she was here!
Now we're getting ready for a super busy weekend that will need it's own update, first off celebrate Jordan's birthday!
