The following week Jordan finished his third year of his apprenticeship and was home early on Friday so we headed out to Abbotsford to check out the Tulip Festival. It was so beautiful, and the colours were amazing.
The following week we went to Campbell Valley Park, I've been to part of this park before but never walked along the trails here. It's so close to home and I've driven by it hundreds of times but never stopped in. Well I'm glad we did because it was beautiful!
Our next adventure was to Pitt Lake Wetlands.
A glorious sunny day and beautiful mountain views, were slightly dampened by grumpy children who only wanted to have snacks. My original plan was to walk the entire trail which would've taken about 2 hours, but after only getting 3/4 of the way down the main gravel road there was no way I could get these guys to do the whole trail today. After a change of plans, we started on our way back the way we came but found a path down to the lake where the kids could throw sticks and rocks into the water- this change of plans was well worth it!
We had so much fun at Campbell Valley Park the first time we went, the kids were begging to go back. We brought some bird seed along this time to try and feed the birds or Chipmunks. We didn't get any birds to come to us but some ducks swimming in the river were thrilled with us.
A few days later we went to Redwood Park with the Diachuk's. We'd been here last year and had so much fun we invited our friends to come along with us. We played at the park, walked through the forest and found the fairy houses.
A full month of adventures, to new places and old! Bring on May!
