For our first hike of June we headed back out to Golden ears Park and hiked around Mike Lake. A peaceful, quiet lake that they used to use as a log run. It was quite treacherous in parts with walkways falling apart and trees blocking the path. This just adds to the excitement though and the kids always love challenges!
The next hike we did at Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver, the kids named this one "Our best hike ever!". Aside from forgetting the hiking backpack and having to carry Zoey on my shoulders and let her walk it was a beautiful hike, with a nice forest walk that lead out to the view of the ocean and lighthouse. It was a sunny day and the kids didn't want to leave. Walking through the forest reminded me so much of going on vacation to Trail Island, the trees and bushes were all the same and the smell of the ocean air brought back many memories.
I also did a hike with Caszie again, this time I did have Zoey along but the older 3 stayed home. We headed out to Chilliwack to Mount Thom. A nice hike if you want a workout, not too long but really steep going up. We had a nice view at the top over the valley and towards Cultus Lake.
We finished off the month with a big adventure at the aquarium. We hadn't been for a couple years and our friends invited us to go along, with 8 kids between 2 families it was quite the day! We got to see the dolphin show, touch some rays and explore all the other great exhibits.
