We are LOVING all this wonderful sunshine! Playing outside, picnics in the backyard, afternoon walks/ bike rides and we brought out the kiddie pool.

Jaxon and Alivia were thrilled with the pool and spent the better part of an hour splashing around in it- even though it was numbingly ice cold! They were in and out of it all afternoon, and the next day and the day after that...

We also tried a new experiment making our own lava lamp. This one didn't go as 'planned', I think using a bottle instead of a vase would be better. It still bubbled and fizzed and gave us something to watch and Jaxon liked listening to the fizzing sound. We got the idea from
here.
We also made coffee filter butterflies which have added a nice pop of colour to our already colourful house! We used coffee filters, eye droppers ad coloured water, once dry we put them together with a painted clothespin, added some pipe cleaner antennae and we had beautiful butterflies!

Jaxon tried marble painting this week, I decided not to involve Alivia this time as she always puts marbles in her mouth and didn't feel like dealing with painted marbles being put in her mouth. In a baking pan we put a piece of paper with a couple dollops of paint and a couple marbles, then moving the pan back and forth trying to get the marbles to go through the paint and make designs on your paper. Jaxon really liked this one and did 4 different pictures, they all turned out so different...

Aw. Fun update, Ang!that pic in the sandbox TOTALLY made me laugh out loud! hilarious! I so want to do the butterfly craft now :) That pic of you is SO cute. Love red on you. And yay for Alivia wearing headbands!! woohoo!! we're loving this weather too :D
ReplyDeletelove the marble painting, i think koen would really enjoy that too and as for miles he'd probably try to eat it aswell... although I'm still struggling with koen putting things in his mouth! AH! love Jaxon wearing daddy's boots! ADORABLE! and headbands, too cute :)
