This Crazy, Wonderful, Busy Life

It's been awhile since I've written about life in general so here it goes...

Hudson is now 7 months old he weighs 19lbs. 8 oz. and is 18 inches long, and I can't get enough of his sweet, happy laid back nature. He's a joy in our lives and has the biggest smile I've ever seen! He's eating so much these days and loves everything he tries... except peas!! He loves to watch Jaxon and Alivia play and gets uncontrollable giggles when they are extra silly and dance around. He's sitting like a pro now and rolls everywhere, when he's on the kitchen floor he pushes himself backwards.

Alivia is always making us laugh with her funny faces, new phrases and her dance moves!! She's just started asking 'why'- I don't think she actually even knows what she is saying but just hears Jaxon asking it. She loves jumping on the trampoline, and couch and bed, and off the steps and into Daddy's arms, she's just a monkey always climbing everywhere. She definitely has a strong will and mind of her own and will let you know if she doesn't want to do something. She wants to be big so bad and is always copying Jaxon and wanting to do what he does.

Jaxon is at his best when he's outside and he can be such an endearing big brother, he pushes Alivia on the swings and takes her by the hand out to Daddy's workshop. He loves helping Jordan in his shop and knows where all the tools belong and where to find them. He's very interested in the days of the week, always asking what day it is knowing that skating is on Saturday and Church on Sunday. He absolutely loves learning and is so fun to teach. He likes to talk about how big he is now and asked the other day if he was a big boy, I said 'Of course you are, your 3 and a half you're such a big boy', not even a second later he had picked Hudson up (under his arms thankfully) and was carrying him over to me. I said 'Jaxon you can't carry Hudson' to which he promptly replied, 'but you said I'm big now'.

Jaxon has had 4 skating lessons, and the whole family went to watch one day, he still is struggling with even standing on the ice but when it's done says he had fun and asks throughout the week when skating is again. I think a little more practice and maybe being a little older will be the key.

Alivia and go for swimming on Saturdays too, I thought she would love it more than she seems to as she splashes and tries to swim in the tub, at the pool however she just gets distracted by every little thing, gets cold very quickly and just likes to cling on to me instead of blowing bubbles or kicking her legs. I thoroughly enjoy our time together though as it's just the 2 of us and all my attention is devoted to her- something that rarely happens otherwise.

After months of yard work, clearing the cedars, replanting them along the outside of the property, levelling, filling and levelling some more, raking and picking up rocks, we've finally seeded and fertilized 10,000 square feet of our yard (only half of the potential yard we will have) it's about 1/4 acre so far. The grass has already started to grow and we're so excited to have a wonderful big yard for the kids to run around in next year... next on the agenda a super awesome playground!

Jordan is dutch, well his grandparents are dutch so it's in his blood and he takes the 'cheap dutchmen' to all kinds of new levels in some instances. If you remember our mini van was only $500, then he put hours upon hours of work into it and money too and now we have a family vehicle that runs. A few years ago we had bought a pathfinder for $400, it ran and didn't need much repairs, we just sold it so now are down to our van for the time being. Jordan wanted to sell the pathfinder in order to buy a pick up truck, for use around the yard and hauling a trailer and also for camping. So he found this pickup and paid $1000, now he has the task of making it run (it doesn't run at this point). So we used his machine and pushed it into the workshop, now him and Jaxon have a new project for the winter.

Thats's been our last couple of weeks in between outings and alphabet activities, we're off to do some crafts then spend the afternoon at the zoo searching for animals that start with our letter 'G'.
